Battle[]

As Inabayama castle was built on top of a mountain two attacks were launched. One involved climbing, the other across the river. Horio Yoshiharu distinguished himself by opening the water gate to his attacking comrades.[2]

Aftermath[]

With Gifu as his base, and with his ally Tokugawa Ieyasu providing his rearguard along the Tokiado road, Nobunaga entered Kyoto in 1568.[3]
