Masayuki Sanada was the third son of Yukitaka Sanada a vassal to the Takeda clan. He is quite know as a master strategist. He was the father of Nobuyuki Sanada and Yukimura Sanada.

BiographyEdit

Masayuki Sanada commanded Ueda castle. In 1600 he led a spirited defence of the castle which managed to prevent Hidetada Tokugawa from arriving at Sekigahara on time. This represented a considerable split in the family, because his son Nobuyuki Sanada joined the Tokugawa faction.[1]
