The Chōsokabe clan during the Sengoku period saw the rule of three generations of the clan which were Chōsokabe Kunichika, Chōsokabe Motochika and Chōsokabe Morichika. The most notable diamyo out of the trio was easily Chōsokabe Motochika who saw to the unification of the island of Shikoku before Toyotomi Hideyoshi's reign over the island. Having lost his son and heir Chōsokabe Nobuchika during Toyotomi Hideyoshi's invasion of Kyushu, Motochika's successor was his other son Chōsokabe Morichika. Chōsokabe Morichika would later support the Toyotomi clan during the Battle of Sekigahara and the Siege of Osaka Castle, which led to the clan's ultimate demise.
